Let’s move forward, strengthen unity govt, cooperatives told

KOTA KINABALU: Members of cooperatives nationwide are urged to strengthen the unity government.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Ahmad Zahid said most importantly, they must help to rebuild the nation, boost economic growth and bring a better future for all Malaysians regardless of race and religion.

He said in the past, leaders in the current government were foes, but now, they had become friends.

"Strengthen the unity government. Last time, we were 'lawan tetap lawan', and now 'lawan jadi kawan' (foes becoming friends)," he said when closing the national Cooperatives Month programme here on Sunday (July 30).

He said let bygones be bygones, and move forward for a better nation.

"Let us open a new chapter, and draw cooperatives that can bring our economy to greater heights," he said.
