State polls: 74 campaigning, ceramah permits approved in Selangor, say cops

SHAH ALAM: Selangor police have issued a total of 74 permits throughout the state to hold state election campaigns and ceramah or political talks as of Saturday (July 29).

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the data was obtained from monitoring carried out, with 34 permits involving campaign activities while the rest were for rallies.

"We have not detected any campaigns or talks (planned) without a permit so far. The police advises that candidates in the running and the community always respect and obey the laws that have been set during the state election,” he said in a statement today.

He also reminded candidates to avoid touching on issues involving the 3R (religion, royalty and race) or making any provocations that could cause unwanted incidents as well as threaten public safety and order. - Bernama
