Cops seize RM2.5mil in narcotics, equipment and vehicles during Johor drug lab bust

JOHOR BARU: A drug processing laboratory in Iskandar Puteri here has been uncovered by the police, with the value of seized drugs, equipment and vehicles amounting to RM2.45mil.

State police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said four men had also been arrested for being involved in the drug laboratory, which had been operating since April.

He said two raids were conducted between 7.30am on July 25 and 12am on July 26 where 4.63kg of ketamine and 166 litres of ketamine liquid were found.

"The drugs found were worth RM2.13mil and could satisfy about 853,155 drug users.

"The suspects, aged 28 to 44 years old have been remanded for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said in a press conference at the Iskandar Puteri police headquarters on Monday (July 31).

Comm Kamarul Zaman said two of the suspects tested positive for ketamine and two possessed previous criminal and drug records.
