State polls: Don’t touch on 3R issues, Fahmi tells youths

PETALING JAYA: Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil (pic) has urged youths not to touch on the 3R (race, religion and royalty) issues while using TikTok, especially during the state polls.

“If the other parties are found touching such sensitive topics, lodge a report to us.

“We will investigate and take action. I also have no plans to ban TikTok in Malaysia.

“Caretaker Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s TikTok suspension is not my doing, its TikTok,” he said during a ceramah at Pentas Geng Perpaduan at The Strand, Kota Damansara, Selangor.

He was addressing the crowd consisting of mostly youths as well as Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan supporters.

“You (the youths) have an important job which is to fully utilise TikTok during the Selangor state election.

“Get in the application and beat them (the opposing parties) in TikTok,” he said.

Political youth leaders such as Selangor Opposition chief Datuk Rizam Ismail from Umno and PKR Youth chief Adam Adli Abdul Halim were also invited to speak on the stage.

Kota Damansara PKR candidate Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim said Kota Damansara has about 90,000 voters and 58% of them are youths.

He faces PN-Bersatu candidate Mohd Radzlan Jalaludin and PSM candidate Sivarajan Arumugam in the Aug 12 state polls.
