KUALA LUMPUR: Kelantan would be more developed if the voters voted for the unity government parties, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Speaking to the media on July 31 at RTM in Angkasapuri here, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the state of Kelantan had only managed to contribute 1.8% to the Gross Domestic Product of the country and had always been economically backward.
"Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tries to help every state and states such as Kelantan has its share of water, flood and development woes.
"If the voters change their stand (and support the unity government parties of Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan), they will benefit more.
"For the 33 years that PAS has governed, the Kelantan state depends only on income per capita, making it very economically backward.
"This shows that Kelantan should be assisted and such assistance will be given if Kelantanese are with the Federal Government.
"We can provide more in terms of employment opportunities, upskilling and development for the people," said the Rural and Regional Development Minister.
