Investigation into Fahmi Fadzil's speech underway, says Selangor top cop


SERDANG: The police have opened an investigation into allegations that Fahmi Fadzil had given a political speech at a mosque at Kampung Melayu Seri Kundang, Rawang.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan (pic) said the police have received a recording of the speech made by the Communication and Digital Minister.

"We will scrutinise the speech and we will give feedback on the matter soon. We will investigate under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act," he said.

Comm Hussain said this when speaking to reporters after witnessing Sime Darby Property Berhad's auxiliary police seventh year celebration at Universiti Putra Malaysia on Tuesday (Aug 1).

Meanwhile on the state election, Comm Hussein said a total of 16 police reports have been lodged so far.

"Seven investigation papers (IPs) have been opened involving committing mischief such as tearing down posters of candidates and damaging flags," he said.
