State polls: PN rubbishes talk of spat between Kelantan MB and deputy

KOTA BARU: Perikatan Nasional has dismissed speculation that the caretaker Kelantan mentri besar and his deputy are at loggerheads.

Kelantan Perikatan secretary Wan Roslan Wan Hamat said rumours had been spread that Datuk Ahmad Yaakob and Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah were at odds over who would be the next mentri besar should Perikatan win the coming state election.

"This is completely false. Instead of attacking people's personal lives we prefer to explain to voters about the programmes in our manifesto," he said during a press conference at Perikatan's media centre here.

"Kelantan people have a high degree of education and they can tell fact from fiction," he said.

Wan Roslan also said that the Opposition wasn't serious about winning the Kelantan election.

"Umno, Pakatan Harapan and DAP aren't serious about taking Kelantan because their state leaders are not contesting.

"Both our chairman and deputy are contesting because we are confident of defending Kelantan," he said.

Kelantan Perikatan's manifesto themed "Kelantan Maju Rakyat Sejahtera" listed 18 plans and 96 programmes.
