HONG Kong superstar Jacky Cheung and Taiwanese singer A-Mei were among those who paid glowing tributes to the late Coco Lee, China Press reported.

A-Mei, in an emotional tribute, said: “Dear Coco, how are you over there?

“I did not have the chance to tell you that you were like my comrade-in-arms.

“I have always admired your persistence in your vocal and stage performances.

“I just want to tell you that what you left behind will be beautiful and eternal.

“I will not forget your music, and you especially,” said A-Mei, who is dubbed the Queen of Mandopop.

Cheung, known as the God of Songs, said Lee was widely acclaimed in the Chinese music industry for her singing prowess.

“Her passing is obviously a great loss to the music world. And she was so young!

“Rest in peace Coco, we will miss you,” he said.

The 48-year-old singer died in a Hong Kong hospital on July 5.

A memorial service took place on Sunday at the Hong Kong Funeral Home in North Point, Hong Kong.
