Ampang man nabbed for damaging neighbour's car

AMPANG: A 32-year-old man has been detained here for allegedly damaging his neighbour's car over a noise dispute.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the 51-year-old victim discovered that the rear windscreen of his car, which was parked at Jalan Pandan Indah, was damaged at about 6am on July 29.

"Investigation led police to arrest (the suspect) at Jalan Pandan Indah at noon on Tuesday (Aug 1).

"We believe the suspect, who works as a security guard, was involved in a dispute with the victim, who lives in the condominium unit above his, for being constantly noisy," he said when contacted on Thursday (Aug 3).

The suspect does not have a criminal record and his urine test came back negative for drugs, he added.

"The suspect has been remanded until Friday (Aug 4).

"We are investigating under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing mischief," he said.
