Cops looking for suspect who took upskirt pictures of insurance agent

KOTA DAMANSARA: Police are looking for a man who allegedly took upskirt pictures of an insurance agent at a mall here.

Recalling the incident which occurred on Tuesday (Aug 1), Lee, 35, said she was on her way to a specialist medical centre when the incident occurred at 11.47am.

"I parked my car at the basement car park, and took the escalator there because I wanted to collect a medical report.

"I felt a very slight touch on my right calf, and I immediately turned around to check.

"To my horror, I saw a man withdrawing his phone from under my dress," she said when contacted on Thursday (Aug 3).

Lee said she immediately screamed at the man and he denied any wrongdoing before running off.

"I took a photo of him while chasing him, and managed to find a security guard who brought me to the management office.

"I demanded that they check the CCTV footage, and they told me to wait. After about one and a half hours, I was told they had captured the incident on CCTV.

"Then I asked the management personnel whether it was possible to get any footage of the man from the car park itself to see if they could get his car plate number," she.said.

However, she said she was told that the car park was under a different management company.

She said she then went to the parking management and asked to see the CCTV footage nearest to her vehicle at the time of the incident, but they did not cooperate.

Lee said she then went to the Kota Damansara police station and lodged a report.

"I want to bring attention to this incident so that the culprit does not get away with it.

"I also hope that the parking management is more cooperative with the police in tracing the whereabouts of the suspect," she said.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid confirmed the report, adding that an investigation has been launched under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a woman.
