Three nabbed for house break-ins, motorcycle theft in KL


AMPANG: Three men have been detained over several motorcycle thefts and house break-ins here and around Kuala Lumpur.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said in the latest case, a motorcycle belonging to a delivery rider was reported stolen near his home in Jalan Pandan Indah on July 25.

"We managed to detain two locals and a Myanmar national in Rawang, Seremban and Cheras in a two-day operation on Tuesday (Aug 1).

"One of the suspects had a record of 11 crimes and is also wanted for an ongoing case," he said in a statement on Thursday (Aug 3).

Investigations showed the suspects were active in house break-ins and stealing motorcycles in Ampang and Kuala Lumpur, he said.

"We also recovered the frame of a stolen motorcycle. We seized three other motorcycles reported stolen in Ampang and Kuala Lumpur," he said.

Several items were also seized including five wristwatches, jewellery, motorcycle parts and three mobile phones, ACP Mohd Azam said.

"The suspects have been remanded until Saturday (Aug 5)," he said.
