Two arrested for murder in Sibu


SIBU: Police detained two men on Tuesday (Aug 1) in connection with the murder of a 46-year old man here.

"They were detained at night and subsequently brought to court the next morning where they were remanded for seven days until Aug 7," Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Zulkifli Suhaili said on Thursday (Aug 3).

"Their remand is to assist the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder."

A post-mortem conducted at Hospital Sibu on the victim's body revealed that the victim died from multiple gunshot wounds, he added.

Asked about the motive for the killing, ACP Zulkifli declined to comment as the case was still under investigation.

Pang Neng Hua was gunned down at the gate of his family's orchard at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman on Monday (July 31).

Pang and his two friends, aged 46 and 36, had earlier gone to the orchard at about 9.30pm to have supper.

Two hours later, as they were about to leave, two men showed up and started firing at them.

His family members and the two friends rushed him to the hospital but he succumbed to eight gunshot wounds.
