PETALING JAYA: Malaysians have flooded social media with well wishes and prayers for celebrity chef Datuk Redzuawan Ismail, better known as Chef Wan, who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma cancer.
More than 150 comments were left by readers on The Star's Facebook post of the news, hoping for his speedy recovery and that he keeps his spirits high.
Facebook user Vickneswary Thurairajah praised Chef Wan for maintaining his witty personality despite the grave news.

"Despite the hit, it's so nice to hear you joke and keep yourself going sir.
"Your positive confidence and strong will, will be your key to recovery sir.
"May God be with you throughout your fight against this test. Be strong and god bless, sir. Take care," he said.
Chef Wan, who broke the news on Instagram on Aug 3, made a light-hearted remark of the different styles of wigs he could don, as doctors informed that he would start losing hair.
“At this point, I accept all my challenges with an open heart and great courage. This is life... you simply need to take things one day at a time and in a positive way.
“I need to be strong and get well as I also need to look after so many people,” he said, adding that his daughter and son-in-law cried after hearing the news.
The 65-year-old shared that the chances of him being cured were between 70% and 80% due to the cancer being discovered relatively early.
Pamela Moo on Facebook commended Chef Wan for his high spirits and assured him that he would not be going through the journey alone.
"Hi Datuk Chef... you are still your witty self and that is great motivation.
"This could be a difficult journey but fight this battle head on!
"You are not alone, many of us will be standing by your side.
"May Almighty protect you and give you strength as you go on this journey," she commented, alongside a hundred others who prayed for his speedy recovery.
