ALTHOUGH she is from a political family, singer NJWA says she has never been interested in joining the political scene like several other artists, Harian Metro reported.

NJWA, whose real name is Najwa, said her passion has always been music.

“I have no interest in pursuing a career in politics. I am all about the arts.

“My family understands that I’m not interested. They have supported my music since the beginning.

“So, when I entered university, I pursued music studies. I have never faced any pressure,” said the daughter of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the premiere of the film Rahsia on Tuesday.

The singer of Alunan Lara recently announced plans to make a comeback and actively pursue her music career.

“I was busy being a mother. I gave birth two years ago and was focused on raising a family.

“Now, I’m back to performing, especially after the release of the film Rahsia. I hope more opportunities will come, God willing,” she said.

NJWA said she is now striving to strike a balance between taking care of her two-year-old daughter Kaleela and continuing her singing career.

NJWA tied the knot with Idris Koh Keng Hui on March 26, 2015.
