Woman recalls horror of man taking upskirt photo

KOTA DAMANSARA: An insurance agent felt a tap on her calf while on an escalator and was horrified when she looked back and saw a man pulling out a mobile phone from under her skirt.

Recalling the ordeal which occurred on Tuesday, the woman, 35, said she was headed to a specialist medical centre here when the incident occurred.

“I parked my car at the basement car park and took the escalator because I wanted to collect a medical report.

“I was on my way up on the escalator when I felt a very slight touch on my right calf, and I immediately turned behind to check. To my horror, I saw a man withdrawing his phone from under my dress,” she said yesterday. The woman said she immediately screamed at the man and he denied any wrongdoing before he ran off.

She then went to the management office to get the CCTV footage of the incident. However, she could not get any footage from the car park as it was managed by a different management company and they would not cooperate.

She said she then went to the Kota Damansara police station and lodged a report.

“The reason I want to bring attention to this incident is so that the culprit does not get away with it. I also hope that the parking management would be more cooperative with the police in tracing the whereabouts of the suspect,” she said.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid confirmed the report, urging anyone with information on the case to contact the police hotline at 03-2052 9999 or go to the nearest police station.
