State polls: Ketereh division still alive and well, says Wanita Umno chief

KOTA BARU: The Ketereh Umno division is still alive and well and its leadership will be replaced by those next-in-line, says Wanita Umno chief Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad (pic).

According to her, the Ketereh Wanita Umno chief's position will now be taken over by the division Wanita vice-chief Marzuani Ardilla Ariffin, replacing Sabariah Hamzah who quit the party on Friday (Aug 4).

“Although the decision made by a few of these members is very regrettable, their action of leaving the party will not cripple Ketereh Umno as claimed.

“On behalf of Wanita Umno, I would like to thank those who have served all this time.

“Leaders come and go but Umno will continue to stand firm. Umno needs loyal members and leadership to fight for the party and country,” she said in a statement on Saturday (Aug 5).

Yesterday, former Ketereh Member of Parliament Tan Sri Annuar Musa claimed that over 20 Umno leaders in the division’s Cabang Tiga Haji Musa branch were leaving the party for Perikatan Nasional including his son, Afiq Amani Annuar who is Ketereh Umno Youth chief.

Annuar also claimed Umno's Cabang Tiga Haji Musa branch under the Ketereh division had been dissolved.

"Since everyone in the branch has resigned, the committee is now dissolved," he said.
