State polls: MCA leaders going all out to support BN candidates, says Dr Wee

MUAR: MCA will do its best in assisting Barisan Nasional candidates contesting in the six state elections, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said that the party's leaders had been sent to several constituencies to assist and support Barisan candidates.

"I was at Tok Mat’s (Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan) place on Friday (Aug 4) where I campaigned and spoke to about 400 Chinese voters.

"I am not the only one doing so, all MCA leaders have been sent to other constituencies as well to support Barisan candidates.

"This includes our deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon and secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon.

"We will try our very best to assist Barisan candidates. So far, the response has been good but we still have to work hard," he said.

Dr Wee said this in a press conference after attending the Johor MCA Youth annual general assembly here on Saturday (Aug 5).

Earlier, Dr Wee shared on social media photos of the campaign trail in Negri Sembilan in support of his comrade, Mohamad, who was defending his Rantau state seat.

Dr Wee told some 400 voters who attended a dinner on Friday (Aug 4) night to give Tok Mat the mandate, so that he could protect and defend the fate of the people of Rantau.
