Fire destroys three cars in Sungai Penchala


KUALA LUMPUR: A fire destroyed three cars along Jalan Bukit Lanjan, Kampung Sungai Penchala on Saturday (Aug 5).

Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Noor Faizal Mohd Noor said the operations room received the distress call at 11.17am.

"Six Bomba personnel and a fire engine were deployed from the Taman Tun Dr Ismail fire station to the scene," he said in a statement on Sunday (Aug 6).

Noor Faizal said Bomba personnel arrived on scene 12 minutes after the call.

"We discovered three cars were completely destroyed by the fire. We managed to put out the fire fully at about 11.55am and there were no victims," he said.

Noor Faizal added that the cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Meanwhile, Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor said no elements of arson were discovered at the scene.

"We believe the fire started with one car and spread to other cars in the vicinity," he said.
