Accountant assaults ex-husband over unpaid debt


AMPANG: A 38-year-old woman was detained for allegedly assaulting her ex-husband at a house in Bukit Indah here over an unpaid debt.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the 28-year-old victim, who was in the midst of moving out, was cleaning a rented house at about 6.55pm on Sunday (Aug 6).

"The suspect arrived and scolded the ex-husband over a RM87,000 debt.

"She then punched the man on the face before hitting his head with a tool and kicking his stomach," he said in a statement on Monday (Aug 7).

ACP Mohd Azam said the woman, who is an accountant, was detained at about 9.45pm on Sunday.

"The victim and the suspect went through a divorce on July 11. They have a baby daughter," he said.

The suspect has been remanded for further investigation, ACP Mohd Azam said.

"We are investigating under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing hurt in a domestic violence incident," he said.
