Ipoh cops on the hunt for car thieves

IPOH: Police are looking for suspects involved in the theft of a car from a house in Meru Raya here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said a report was lodged by the car owner on the day the vehicle was stolen.

"Based on our investigations, the car was stolen around 2.30am on Aug 2 and the owner lodged the report at 11.46am," he said in a statement on Monday (Aug 7).

ACP Yahaya added that the police had a surveillance camera video related to the case.

"The video went viral on several social media platforms that had caught the attention of our personnel."

The one-minute 13-second video, believed to be from a neighbour's surveillance camera, showed details of the stolen vehicle, its plate number and the time it was stolen.

There were two individuals seen in the video but ACP Yahaya said police were still investigating if there were more suspects involved.

He urged those with information to contact investigating officer ASP Fadhli Ahmad at 019-250 0019.
