Muhyiddin should assist MACC to locate son-in-law, says Fahmi


KLANG: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin should come forward and assist the anti-graft agency over his son-in-law's whereabouts, says Fahmi Fadzil.

The Communications and Digital Minister said that Adlan Berhan should not have gone missing if he has not committed any wrongdoing.

"If he's not at fault, why go missing? He should show up," Fahmi said during a unity ceramah "Arus Merah Kuning" in Meru here Monday (Aug 7) night.

Fahmi said that Muhyiddin should assist the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to locate his son-in-law and ensure that justice is served.

"Tan Sri Muhyiddin has to answer where his son-in-law is. We ask that he answer this," he added.

Earlier on Monday, the MACC issued a statement that it is seeking Adlan Berhan and lawyer Mansoor Saat to come forward to assist in the probe into a ministry project involving the registration, recruitment and storage of foreign workers' biometric data.

“Based on the MACC’s checks with the Immigration Department, the two individuals left the country on May 17 and 21 respectively and there are no records of their return,” it said.

MACC also said that various efforts had been made to contact the duo, as well as their respective lawyers, but they had failed to present themselves at the MACC office.

Meanwhile, Fahmi said all parties should open their minds and reject extreme racial and religious ideologies.

"Do not let our difference in political beliefs divide our national unity.

"Do we really want to see the Malays split among themselves and others fight in disunity?

"We achieved Merdeka for 66 years. Don't let our partisanship break up the unity and harmony we have achieved," he said.
