JELI: The people in Kelantan have been told that they will experience a better life under Barisan Nasional-Pakatan Harapan.
"Grab the opportunity to lead a better life and end the 33-year-long struggle of the Kelantan people," said Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic).
The Deputy Prime Minister pledged Kelantan folk that their overdue water bills would be waived if Barisan-Pakatan wins the coming state election.
"We will waive all overdue water bills from Aug 12 to a few years prior if we win," he said in an event here on Monday (Aug 7).
He also pledged to reduce all property premium charges by 50% as well as build a Kelantan Tahfiz Quran and Science University College.
"Many people here are forced to find work in other states due to poor job opportunities, which is why we promise to increase jobs and investments in the state," he said.
Ahmad Zahid urged voters to support them to enable the unity government to win at least 23 seats to form the state government.
He also said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been fair to the state by allocating RM1.7bil for a flood mitigation system.
"Give BN-PH a chance to run as state government or else the people here could continue struggling.
"Let us prove to the Kelantan people that we will fulfil the pledges in our manifesto in the next five years," he said.
On Saturday (Aug 5), Kelantan Barisan chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub announced the unity government's state manifesto which touched on water bills, Islamic development and affordable homes among others.
The Kelantan state election will be held on Saturday (Aug 12) with early voting on Wednesday (Aug 8).
