State polls: Umno voters now support Perikatan, says Peja

REMBAU: Umno voters have changed sides and now support Perikatan Nasional candidates, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

“It is so clear. At this point we believe that Umno voters have changed their minds and they know that this is the platform and party to be supported to form the government in Negri Sembilan," he said.

Ahmad Faizal then said that there are legal ways to change the Federal Government even with anti-hopping laws in effect.

“The same can be said of the other state governments and there are processes that can be done, that is according to the Constitution,” he said at a press conference after a ceramah in Sendayan on Sunday (Aug 6) night.

In his speech earlier, Ahmad Faizal took several shots at Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“Once Negri Sembilan and Selangor go upside down, what happens to him (Anwar)? I think he will run into the night once he sees our panglima (Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor) as well Kelantan and Terengganu Mentri Besar being steady," he said.

He added that if Negri Sembilan voters gave Perikatan the mandate, the entire country would reap the rewards.

“We will give some to Selangor, and Selangor to us. Everyone will benefit,” he added.

Meanwhile, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said that the current unity government is directionless and added that the federal government would follow suit if all six states swing to Perikatan.

“In Malay I’ll say that this would also mean that they ‘perintah guna kaki’ (governing with their feet), with no direction,” he said.
