Amirudin wants Sanusi to apologise, pay RM10mil in damages


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari is giving caretaker Kedah mentri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor 48 hours to apologise and retract his allegedly defamatory statement.

The caretaker Selangor mentri besar said his lawyers had delivered a letter of demand to Muhammad Sanusi on Wednesday (Aug 9).

"I have demanded that Muhammad Sanusi, within 48 hours, withdraws and apologises for his statement and guarantees that the defamation is not repeated," Amirudin said in a statement Wednesday night.

He also demanded Muhammad Sanusi pay damages of RM10mil for issuing fake news that affected the institution fo Datuk Mentri Besar of Selangor and the Selangor state government.

Amirudin added that he will proceed with legal action in court if Muhammad Sanusi failed to adhere to the letter of demand.
