Malaysia can learn much from Liuzhou on EV, skills training, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia can gain more knowledge on electric vehicles and training skilled workers in vocational subjects from China's city of Liuzhou, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said this in a Facebook post after visiting the city's Wuling Car Manufacturing Factory and Industrial Museum on Wednesday (Aug 9).

"I am glad to witness how vocational training is flourishing in Liuzhou to produce thousands of skilled workers for China.

"There is much Malaysia can learn from Liuzhou in terms of development of electric vehicles and the training of skilled workers," he said.

On July 8, the Ayer Hitam MP was invited to visit Liuzhou after launching Liuzhou's Key Industries Investment Promotion conference in the country.

"Zhang Zhuang, the Liuzhou Mayor whom I met at the conference, graciously invited me to visit.

"While attending the China-Asean Cross-border Supply Chain Innovation and Development Forum in Nanning, I took the opportunity to visit Liuzhou.

"My appreciation goes to Liuzhou Deputy Mayor Tang Zhengguo who warmly welcomed me to the state.

"I managed to savour the area's famous 'luo shi fen' and also had the opportunity to visit the Wuling Car Manufacturing Factory and Industrial Museum," he said.
