KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he will seek former Penang deputy chief minister II Dr P Ramasamy's clarification over his resignation from DAP.
"Ramasamy is a friend. I will get his views (on his resignation). He understands about several problems in the party (DAP)," Anwar said when met after delivering his keynote address at the 36th Asia-Pacific Roundtable here on Thursday (Aug 10).
Anwar, who is Pakatan Harapan chairman, also expressed hope that Ramasamy would continue to serve the people in some capacity.

"I hope he will continue to contribute to the Madani (Economy framework)," Anwar said.
Earlier, it was reported that Ramasamy had submitted a letter of resignation to DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow.
Ramasamy was among the seven incumbents dropped as candidates for the Aug 12 Penang state polls.
He had been Prai assemblyman since 2008.
