Armoured troop carrier crashes into passenger car in Kota Tinggi, four injured


KOTA TINGGI: Four people including three young boys were injured when their car got into an accident with an armoured vehicle.

Punggai Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Deddy Borhan Umaali said the accident was reported at 8.28pm on Wednesday (Aug 9).

"The Armed Forces' armoured vehicle was on its way back to the Teluk Sepang camp here when it crashed into a Honda Odyssey on the road near Taman Damai.

"The 54-year-old female driver of the car as well as three passengers aged four to seven years old were injured as a result of the accident.

"They were not trapped in the vehicle. All four of them were sent to the Bayu Damai health clinic for medical treatment," he said in a statement.

Deddy Borhan added that the two army men in the armoured vehicle were unhurt.

After ensuring that the victims were safe, the department ended the operations and left the scene at around 10pm, he said.
