KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman is ready to assist the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on various matters, including requesting an Interpol Red Notice, to track Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s son-in-law, says Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
"If there is any way we can be of assistance, we will definitely help.
"It is not a problem for us to assist the MACC, including requesting the Red Notice from Interpol," the Inspector-General of Police told a press conference at Bukit Aman here on Thursday (Aug 10).
The country's top cop was commenting on MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki's statement that graft busters were planning to apply for an Interpol Red Notice on the former premier’s son-in-law and another individual, with the help of the police.
Azam had said this would be done soon.
"We believe they are in a particular country but we cannot disclose which country it is," he told reporters.
On Monday, the MACC issued a statement that it is seeking Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan and lawyer Mansoor Saat to come forward to assist in the probe into a ministry project involving the registration, recruitment and storage of foreign workers' biometric data.
"Based on the MACC’s checks with the Immigration Department, the two individuals left the country on May 17 and 21 respectively and there are no records of their return,” it said.
It also said that various efforts had been made to contact the duo, as well as their respective lawyers, but they had failed to present themselves at the MACC office.
