REMBAU: Rubbishing claims of involvement in the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) issue, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan says he was still serving in Seremban and not the defence minister at the time.

"How could I have been involved in the LCS issue when I was still serving in Seremban then," the Defence Minister said at a ceramah in Senawang on Thursday (Aug 10).

This comes after controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, better known as RPK, accused Mohamad of being involved in the LCS scandal in a recent video.

“This RPK, in a video recently, said that I had a conflict of interest in the LCS matter and was one of the decision makers. 'Apo ko gila ni? (Are you crazy?)'

“Check what year was the LCS scandal. At that time, I wasn’t in the Federal administration, I was still in Seremban (as mentri besar).

“I have only been Defence Minister since November last year. If you want to throw allegations, at least get it right,” he said.

Speaking to the media after a ceramah at Senawang here, Mohamad strongly denied claims of his involvement.

“Don’t tell me he (RPK) doesn’t know when I became minister,” he said.

He also denied claims that he would be removed from Cabinet and that he had not been seen campaigning with the Prime Minister because they had a strained relationship.

“I was sick for four days. My fever was 40°C,” he said, adding that the allegations were made without basis and an attempt at character assassination.
