Film producer Rosyam Nor latest victim of investment scams misusing images of celebs

PETALING JAYA: Local film producer and actor Datuk Rosyam Nor (pic) has become the latest victim of investment scammers using pictures of celebrities or public figures.

He said he has nothing to do with any investment scheme involving shares.

Sinar Harian reported that the 56-year-old’s picture had been used illegally by irresponsible parties to promote investment schemes.

“I just want to tell you, there are a lot of advertisements about stocks that use my picture and a lot of people are affected,” he was quoted as saying in a video.

“Don’t be quick to believe, people can use my picture, post my picture,” he said.

The Malay daily reported that other celebrities such as Datuk Awie, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Rozita Che Wan, Ella and Erra Fazira had previously reported that their photos had also been used to promote products and stocks.
