State polls: PH-BN secures two-thirds majority in Negri


KUALA LUMPUR: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) alliance secured Negri Sembilan with a two-thirds majority win in the state election Saturday (Aug 12).

Based on data released by the Election Commission (EC) at 10.33pm, PH-BN had so far won 24 of the 36 seats at stake, in turn paving the way to form a much stronger state government.

Perikatan Nasional (PN) has only managed to win three seats so far.

The Negri Sembilan legislative assembly was dissolved on July 1.

In the 14th General Election (GE14), PH won 20 seats and BN, which was then contesting as its rival, took 16. - Bernama
