State polls: Sanusi shows ballot paper to pressmen

SIK: Caretaker Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor allegedly showed who he voted for on his ballot paper before slotting it into the box at the polling centre here.

Several pressmen were taken aback by the move at the polling centre at SK Bandar Baru Beris Jaya, Jeniang, at 11am on Saturday (Aug 12), according to Sin Chew Daily.

Voting is supposed to be done in secrecy and this could amount to an offence under the Election Offences Act 1954.

Earlier, Muhammad Sanusi and his wife Puan Sri Jusmalailani Jusoh were well received by voters and supporters at the polling centre.

Many shouted out his name as others took photographs and shook hands with him.

Before leaving, he raised his arm in the air to thank his supporters.
