State polls: Smooth going in Padang Kota voting so far, says Chow

GEORGE TOWN: Padang Kota candidate Chow Kon Yeow (pic) said voting has been going smoothly since Saturday (Aug 12) morning.

“Today is the day for Penangites to decide who they want to lead them for the next five years.

“Last night’s final ceramah in Karpal Singh Drive was the biggest and nothing untoward was reported.

“It was held in line with the democratic spirit, and it was good to see so many people coming out to support the Pakatan Harapan unity candidates,” he told reporters after voting at SJKC Hu Yew Seah in Jalan Madras.

Also present was Komtar candidate Teh Lai Heng, who estimated that voter turnout will reach 70% by the close of polling day at 6pm.
