State polls: Sons of two former Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar fall in state polls


PORT DICKSON: Two sons of former Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar have lost in the state polls.

In Jelebu, Perikatan Nasional’s Danni Rais lost to Pakatan Harapan’s Bakri Sawir for the Klawang state seat.

Danni – the son of former Negri Menteri Besar Tan Sri Rais Yatim - received 4,021 votes while Bakri garnered 4,598.

Meanwhile in the Barisan Nasional stronghold of Bagan Pinang, Barisan’s Mohd Najib Mohd Isa lost to Perikatan’s Abdul Fatah Zakaria in a closely-watched battle.

Mohd Najib lost by 3,426 votes. He garnered 7,495 while Perikatan’s Abdul Fatah received 10,921 votes.

Mohd Najib is the son of former Negri Mentri Besar Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.

Mohd Isa previously won the Bagan Pinang seat during the 2008 state polls.
