PUTRAJAYA: Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional has obtained a simple majority in the state election on Saturday (Aug 12) to continue to lead Selangor, says the Election Commission.
Pakatan won 29 out of 56 state seats in Selangor as of 11.31pm, EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh announced in a media conference here.
"(Pakatan) has therefore has managed to obtain a majority of over 50% of the total seats contested," he said.
Selangor had a voter turnout of 65% as of 4pm. Pakatan formed the previous state government after winning 51 out of 56 seats contested during the 14th General Election. – Bernama
