PUTRAJAYA: Selangor and Negri Sembilan are set to stay under the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional unity pact.
Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh said based on the total votes counted as of 11pm on Saturday (Aug 12), out of the 36 seats contested for in the Negri Sembilan state assembly, Pakatan had won 17, Barisan won 14, and Perikatan Nasional won the remaining five.
"Based on the results obtained, no single party has won a majority of over 50% out of the overall number of seats contested," he said in a press conference at the EC headquarters here on Saturday (Aug 12).
Meanwhile, as of 11.31pm Saturday (Aug 12), Pakatan had won 29 seats out of the 56 state seats in the Selangor state assembly, thus securing a majority of over half out of the overall seats contested, said Abdul Ghani.
