Amirudin to present list of exco to Selangor Ruler today


KLANG: Caretaker Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari is scheduled to present the names of the Selangor executive council to state ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at 2.30pm on Thursday (Aug 17)

Amirudin will present the names to Sultan Sharafuddin at Istana Bukit Kayangan in Shah Alam.

According to a PKR insider, besides a couple of rookies, the others selected are mostly senior elected representatives.

The state executive team has ten members and according to the present equation PKR is expected to get four, DAP three, Amanah two and Umno one.

According to information received, PKR has selected Tanjong Sepat assemblyman Borhan Aman Shah, Sentosa assemblyman Gunaraj George, Kota Anggerik assemblyman Najwan Halimi and Seri Setia assemblyman Dr Fahmi Ngah as its exco representatives,’’ said the source.

The former three are all second term assemblymen whilst Dr Fahmi is a newbie.

He added that DAP has nominated Sekinchan assemblyman Ng Suee Lim, Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han, Bandar Utama assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin and Banting assemblyman V. Papparaidu.

However, only three out of the four names will be selected, said the source.

Suee Lim is serving his fourth term and both Jamaliah and Sze Han are second-term assemblyman whilst Papparaidu was elected for the first time.

As expected, said the source, Amanah has given the name of its Selangor chief Izham Hashim and its state vice chairman Mariam Abdul Rashid who are the Pandan Indah and Meru assemblymen respectively.

The source also said that there is a high chance that the sole Umno name on the exco list is not Umno veteran and Dusun Tua assemblyman Datuk Johan Abd Aziz but instead Sungai Air Tawar assemblyman Datuk Rizam Ismail.

Rizam had been the Opposition chief at the Selangor Legislative Assembly throughout the 2018 – 2023 term.

Given that it is Amirudin who is presenting the list to Sultan Sharafuddin, its is highly certain that he will serving as Selangor’s mentri besar for the next term as well.
