SAJI was named Top Outstanding Brand with the Most Incremental Shoppers in 2022 by London-based Kantar – the world’s leading consumer data, insights and consultancy company.

The award was given following the success of the local food product brand by FGV Holdings Bhd which achieved a significant increase in the number of buyers in Malaysia – by 5.4% or about 400,000 new buyers in 2022.

Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Shammim Azad Kamruzaman said the award cements Saji as a household brand, as reflected in the rise in consumer acceptance and the expansion of the market for its products.

He said that since 2000, Saji has been a major player in the local market, by diversifying the company’s product offerings from cooking oil to other foodstuff such as creamers, instant noodles, cooking sauces, coconut milk (santan) and other products.

“This effort has contributed to the wide acceptance by consumers and the success of Saji in the market. With the support of our buyers, we are eager to move forward and make a positive impact in the country’s food industry.

“FGV intends to achieve the company’s goal to ensure that at least 50% of the cooking essentials in Malaysian kitchens are made up of various products produced by FGV, by the year 2030,” he said at the award ceremony recently.

The award was conferred by Worldpanel Division Kantar Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Malaysia and Thailand managing director Howard Chang to FGV group chief executive officer Datuk Nazrul Mansor.

Nazrul said that receiving the prestigious award and Saji’s continuous growth showed FGV’s commitment to becoming a leading Malaysian food company with a vision of eventually introducing sustainable food and agricultural products to the worldstage.
