THE Telugu Association of Malaysia’s Johor Baru branch will receive a special RM20,000 allocation from the state government in conjunction with its 35th anniversary, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Kemelah state assemblyman N. Saraswati, who represented Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, announced the matter when officiating a festival that was said to have showcased the best of Malaysian Telugu culture and the community’s unity.
The association’s national president Dr Vengkata Prathap Simanchalam said the NGO has been working for the betterment of the community since its inception in Perak in 1955.

A heavily pregnant Rupa, of Uttar Pradesh, suddenly began experiencing pain on Sunday, so her family rushed her to the hospital by auto-rickshaw.
However, Rupa gave birth prematurely by the roadside near the governor’s palace.
Passersby who saw the family’s plight then called for an ambulance, but it arrived too late to help the baby.
Doctors at the hospital later confirmed that the baby had died.
