Elmina plane crash: Pelangai by-election discussion can wait, says Anwar

KLANG: Any plan or discussion to hold a by-election in Pahang can be made later, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar said this when asked about holding a by-election after the passing of Pahang local government, housing, environment and green technology committee chairman Datuk Seri Johari Harun, who is also Pelangai assemblyman.

“It's okay, we can wait until later,” he briefly told reporters when met at the forensics department of the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR), here on Friday (Aug 18).

Johari was involved in a plane crash at Elmina Township on Thursday (Aug 17).

He was among the 10 victims who perished in the incident, including two road users who were passing by, when the aircraft nosedived into the road.

The plane was scheduled to land at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang from Langkawi when the tragedy happened.
