No compromise in investigation into cops, DPPs caught at entertainment outlet

GOMBAK: We will not compromise in the investigation into the 15 cops and two DPPs arrested in the recent raid of a Seremban entertainment outlet, says Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.

"Action has been taken, firstly the policemen have been suspended. We are completing the investigation papers and they have been granted police bail," he said, adding that the investigations were ongoing.

"This is the normal process. Even though the preliminary results were positive we have to send the urine samples to the pathologist and this would take around a month to complete," added Ayob Khan.

He said this on Sunday (Aug 20) after the burial of Pelangai assemblyman and Pahang exco member Datuk Seri Johari Harun at the Raudhatul Sakinah burial ground here.

On the arrests, he said the next steps in the process would be taken if the suspects are sentenced after being charged in court.

Ayob Khan added that the authorities were not merely acting after the issue had been spread on social media.

"This year alone there have been 741 'tatatertib' actions taken, with around 60 firings up until July," he said adding that these processes take time.

On Aug 19, a Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) team raided an entertainment outlet in Seremban.

The police officers and personnel were from Nilai Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID), Tamping NCID, Seremban Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, Seremban district police headquarters and the Negri Sembilan state police headquarters.

The two DPPs worked in Shah Alam, Selangor and in Negri Sembilan respectively.
