Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said they received a distress call about the incident at around 1.51pm Wednesday (Aug 23).

"We dispatched six personnel and a fire engine from the Sungai Pinang Fire Station to the scene.

"They arrived at the scene and found a 19-year-old Bangladeshi man was pulled into the machine while compacting material meant to be recycled," he said when contacted, adding that the victim died at the scene.

"We removed the body from the machine and handed it over to Health Ministry officials for further action," he said.
