18 roads in Putrajaya to be closed for National Day rehearsals from Aug 27-29


PUTRAJAYA: A total of 18 roads here will be closed for the National Day rehearsals from Sunday to Tuesday (Aug 27 to 29).

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said the roads would be closed from 5am till 11am.

"The rehearsals will be held on Aug 27 and Aug 28 while the full dress rehearsal will be on Aug 29," he told a press conference at KL police headquarters on Friday (Aug 25).

Comm Allaudeen hoped the public, especially those living and working at the administrative centre to be mindful of the road closures.

"Plan your journeys and activities accordingly," he advised.

On Merdeka eve, Comm Allaudeen said no roads would be closed at the venues involved - Dataran Merdeka, KLCC and Bukit Bintang areas.

"For Dataran Merdeka, visitors will have to enter from Jalan Tun Perak direction, from 5pm onwards, and use Jalan Gereja to exit.

"We will have sufficient personnel there to ensure the safety of the public," he said.

Fireworks displays are planned at Dataran Merdeka and KLCC, he said.

"We are committed to ensure the activities are conducted safely, securely and systematically," he added.

The roads in Putrajaya to be closed from Aug 27 to Aug 29 were:

1. Persiaran Perdana till Laman Perdana

2. Lebuh Saujana till Persiaran Perdana and Lebuh Wadi Ehsan

3. Lebuh Wawasan till Lingkaran Gemilang 1

4. Lebuh Bestari till Persiaran Perdana

5. Jalan Pembangunan from the direction of Jalan Tun Abd Razak and Jalan Permodenan

6. Jalan Kemerdekaan towards Persiaran Perdana

7. Jalan P3F till Persiaran Perdana

8. Jalan P2K till Persiaran Perdana

9. Jalan P3C till Persiaran Perdana

10. Jalan P2S till Persiaran Perdana

11. Jalan P2W till Persiaran Perdana

12. Jalan P2P till Persiaran Perdana

13. Lebuh Setia till Persiaran Perdana

14. Jalan Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah till Bulatan Putra

15. Lebuh Setia till Jalan Perdana

16. Jalan Perpaduan towards Lingkaran Gemilang 1

17. Jalan Tun Hussein till Lebuh Bestari
