Body of homeless man found in drain in Batu Pahat


BATU PAHAT: A homeless man was found dead in a drain in Jalan Sultanah here.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Dollah said police received information about a body that was found in a drain at about 5pm on Thursday (Aug 24).

"The body was taken out from the drain by police with assistance from the fire and rescue department and the district Public Works Department.

"The man was believed to have fallen into the drain and drowned. There were no signs of foul play found on the body.

"According to the public, the victim was homeless and often seen in the area," he said in a statement.

He said the case has been classified as sudden death.
