CM Ab Rauf leads list of 1,042 Melaka state award recipients


MELAKA: Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh leads the list of 1,042 recipients of state awards and medals bestowed in conjunction with the 74th birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam yesterday.

State secretary Datuk Zaidi Johari said Ab Rauf received the Darjah Utama Negeri Melaka (DUNM), which carries the title “Datuk Seri Utama”.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, meanwhile, received the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM), which carries the title “Datuk Seri”.

“A total of 20 people received the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM), which carries the title ‘Datuk Wira’ - among others, state tourism, heritage, art and culture committee chairman Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman; Melaka police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Zainol Samah; Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and Deputy Prime Minister’s special function officer Datuk Tajul Razi Abdul Aziz,” he said in a statement.

Recipients of the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), which carries the title “Datuk”, included science, technology, innovation and digital communications committee chairman Fairul Nizam Roslan; state housing, local government, drainage, climate change and disaster management committee deputy chairman Zulkiflee Mohd Zin; deputy director-general of Public Service (Operations) Dr Anesee Ibrahim; Prime Minister’s political secretary Azman Abidin and Parti Punjabi Malaysia secretary-general Datuk Amarjeet Singh.

A total of 208 people received the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), which carries the title “Datuk”, and they included science, technology, innovation and digital communications committee deputy chairman Mohd Noor Helmy Abdul Halim; Royal Malaysian Armoured Corps director Brigadier-General Mohd Fazly Mat Said; Melaka Islamic Religious Department director Badaruddin Mohd Kassim; and Jasin district officer Rahizi Ranom.

Other recipients of the DPSM are composer Hasim Said, better known as S. Atan, and Malaysian Broadcasting Department director-general Suhaimi Sulaiman.

Sixty-two people received the Darjah Seri Melaka (DSM), 96 the Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (BCM), 205 the Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (BKT), 292 the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK), 129 the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (PBM) and 10 the Pingat Khidmat Lama (PKL) awards.

All the recipients will receive their awards at investiture ceremonies held over three sessions.

The next ones will be held tomorrow and Sunday.
