Cops on the hunt for rape suspect after failing to attend court hearing


SERDANG: Police are on the hunt for a man, who failed to attend a court hearing for a rape charge.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm AA Anbalagan, in a statement today (Aug 25), said the man was scheduled to be in court for a hearing on June 15, but failed to attend.

The accused had pleaded not guilty to a rape charge and was granted bail, he added.

A warrant of arrest has been issued against Mohd Mazlan Sharfudeen, 31.

His last known address was Jalan Pipit 4 in Bandar Puchong Jaya.

"Those with information on his whereabouts can contact investigating officer Insp Nursabrina Ahmad Jafri at 012-634 8487 or any police stations," said ACP Anbalagan.
