Nationwide Jualan Rahmah programme planned in advance for 2023, says Fuziah

MUAR: The Jualan Rahmah programme being carried out nationwide was planned in advance and has nothing to do with the Simpang Jeram and Pulai by-elections, says Fuziah Salleh.

The Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister said the programme's schedule for the whole country had already been arranged for the entire year.

"Since there are by-elections in Pulai and Simpang Jeram, the ministry will not carry out any programme to hand over allocations in these two areas.

"However, we will continue with the Jualan Rahmah programme. It will be unfair to put the event on hold in Pulai and Simpang Jeram just because of the by-elections.

"The schedule for Jualan Rahmah nationwide was arranged earlier. In some instances, we will add extra programmes in certain places if there is a request from the people or its representatives," she said after attending a Jualan Rahmah programme at Dewan Terbuka Taman Desa Sungai Abong here on Friday (Aug 25).

Also present was Pakatan Harapan's candidate for the Simpang Jeram state seat, Nazri Abdul Rahman.

When asked about Nazri's presence at the event, she said he was there as the Simpang Jeram service centre's representative. – Bernama
