MCA leaders should give younger generation a chance to lead, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: Experienced politicians in MCA should share their wisdom with the younger generation and give them the opportunities to lead the party, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president also advised potential candidates to display honourable characteristics and play fair in the upcoming party elections even though the competition might be stiff.

“I am glad to spend time with our party delegates from Perak MCA as I launched the state convention in Ipoh today. I am encouraged to see our delegates in high spirit and come out in full force to support the state convention.

“I shared with the delegates that our experienced leaders must provide guidance to the younger generation while giving them the opportunities to lead,” he said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Aug 26).

Also present at the event were MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon, vice-presidents Datuk Lim Ban Hong, Datuk Tan Teik Cheng and Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker as well as the MCA central leadership.

MCA is expected to hold its national-level party elections on Sept 24, while nomination day is on Sept 11.

The party's Wanita and Youth wings would hold their polls on Sept 23.
