Former Ipoh mayor Zamri Man passes away


IPOH: Former Ipoh City Council mayor Datuk Zamri Man (pic) has passed away.

Zamri, 56, breathed his last at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital on Sunday (Aug 27).

The news of his death was shared at the official Manjung Municipal Council Facebook page, as he was the former president.

Zamri was Ipoh mayor from 2015 until 2019.

On April 2019, Zamri was removed as Ipoh mayor for going absent without leave (AWOL).

Zamri, who was understood to be unwell, had not submitted any sick leave and had gone missing for months.

The Public Service Department had said that Zamri’s tenure as mayor has shortened due to health reasons.
