Media centre for 2023 National Day coverage to open tomorrow

PUTRAJAYA: The Media Centre for the 2023 National Day will operate for four days starting Monday (Aug 28) from 6.30 am to 3 pm at the Cempaka Sari Auditorium here.

However, on August 30 (Wednesday), it will start operations from 10 am to 3 pm, said the coordinator of the 2023 National Day Media Centre, Datuk E Sivabalan.

He said the setting up of the media centre was now 90 per cent completed and ready to receive media personnel who will cover the 2023 National Day celebration.

"We encourage all media practitioners to come, but they need to have the media verification card issued by the Information Department, and for the convenience of the media practitioners, we will create a temporary Whatsapp group for sharing of information and also provide plug points and 5G Wi-Fi connections, food and drinks at the media centre," he said when met at the media centre here today.

On Saturday (Aug 26), Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil urged all stakeholders, including media personnel, to test the internet coverage and telecommunication signals of their lines on the dress rehearsal day on Aug 29.

Meanwhile, Sivabalan advised media personnel covering the National Day celebration to maintain their work ethics and abide by stipulated instructions.

He said about 500 local and foreign media practitioners would be covering the event. - Bernama
